HOW DOES MEDBANK WORK?

MedBank helps people access pharmaceutical company Patient Assistance Programs to obtain free medications. Referrals are accepted by fax or mail. MedBank staff and volunteers fill out an application for each medication. After applications are signed by the patient and physician, all forms are sent to the pharmaceutical companies. Each company will send the select medications to the physician’s office, where the patient may pick them up. Although MedBank does not provide emergency services, patients released from area hospitals and new patients may qualify for a 30-day supply until the first shipment of medications arrives.

Eligibility:
• Patient must be a resident of Chatham, Effingham, or Bryan counties
• Patient must have a chronic illness (MedBank does not apply for antibiotics or narcotics)
• Patient must have NO prescription drug coverage or public entitlement
• Patient and household members must provide required proof of income
• Patient must meet select company income criteria
